Born in England, raised in and around the Calgary area. Having a lifelong interest in the arts, Simon began painting in the late 90’s. Choosing oil paints and canvas as his medium, Simon’s paintings explore themes inspired by metaphysics, nature, music and dream like states. Abstract Expressionism & Abstract Realism best describe his recent works. Highly inspired to paint from an unknown source within, the paintings produced are reflections of deep introspection and contemplative thoughts combined with the action of painting.

Late 2010 Onward:
- Mid – late 2010 I needed to become more engaged with my chosen career and married. It was time to take a break from painting and focus on developing in other areas of my life
- At the end of 2022 painting became a big part of my life again. My wife Terra allowed me some space in her Ramsay Studio so I could continue to explore my creativity.
- At the beginning of 2025 I re-joined Artpoint Gallery and Studios, working in studio #10.
