About Me

  • Born in England, 1973, my family moved to Canada while I was a very young age.
  • Mainly lived in Calgary, Alberta with a little bit of time spent in surrounding rural communities during my teenage years.
  • Currently reside in the Inglewood community – Calgary, Alberta.
  • Enthusiastic about artwork in my youth, the enthusiasm extended into adulthood with much time spent drawing during my late teens and early twenty’s.
  • Was encouraged by a friend to start painting on canvas circa 1998.
  • When choosing supplies I was drawn to oil paints, this has been my main medium of choice since.
  • Painting became a fascination and passion moving forward, a lot of my time outside of work became devoted to this.
  • After a few years of being self-taught I sought some semi-formal instruction / guidance from another painter 2002 – 2003.

Late 2010 Onward:

  • Mid – late 2010 I became more engaged with my chosen career and married my wife, Terra.  It was time to take a break from painting and focus on developing in other areas of my life – building on my career, marriage, health & fitness.
  • 2014 I began a construction company with two work colleagues and another business partner / established entrepreneur who helped us build our business we currently operate (AICEIM Construction Ltd.).
  • In the time between 2010 – 2022 I truly missed being engaged in the creative process of painting.  I occasionally enjoyed Plein Air painting sessions and drawing with ink and pencil on paper.  Both activities at home and out in nature.
  • At the end of 2022, I could no longer resist the urge to create and paint.  My wife Terra allowed me some space in her Ramsay Studio so I could continue to explore my passion for painting.  After painting in the studio for 7 months I decided to move my easel home so I would have more flexibility and time to work on my paintings.
  • During the final days of 2022, the year of 2023 and into 2024 I have been working steadily on my Stone Series and have enjoyed making a few other paintings at the same time.
